Matthew D. Powers, Esq. has a wealth of experience in government relations, advisory services and client representation before the New York State legislature, executive agencies and authorities and local municipalities. This vast array of knowledge helps clients achieve their desired results.
Prior to joining Tonio Burgos & Associates, Matt founded and served as principal engagement partner for a prominent government consulting firm. Amongst other accomplishments there, he helped to pass major legislation in the areas of civil rights, industry tax credits, animal welfare, stadium development, and union contract authorizations. He successfully advised clients in large scale procurements of banking, health care, transportation, and information technology contracts. Additionally, Matt interned at the office of the Attorney General of the State of New York and assisted in the creation of the Science and Technology Law Center at Albany Law School of Union University. He previously served as counsel to the New York Republican State Committee and consulted on numerous national, state and local campaigns.
