

As President of Tonio Burgos & Associates of New Jersey, Art directs the firm’s operations in New Jersey, bringing with him three decades of experience in New Jersey government, public policy and economic affairs.
Art came to Tonio Burgos after serving as First Vice President of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA), the nation's largest state-level employer association. Additionally, he acted as Executive Director of NEW JOBS, the Business PAC of New Jersey, supporting pro-business candidates to the state legislature.
Prior to joining NJBIA, Art worked as a Regional Director of the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development, Executive Director of the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency and Deputy Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. Art began his New Jersey government career as a tax forecaster and Budget and Policy Director with the New Jersey State Legislature.
Art has assisted various Governors, most recently working with the Christie Administration’s economic development transition subcommittee, the Choose New Jersey CEO search committee and the privatization task force. He was a member of the Whitman Administration’s Advisory Commission on Privatization. Art has also received gubernatorial and legislative appointments to several commissions including the State Revenue Forecasting Advisory Commission, the New Jersey Building Authority, and the New Jersey Information Resources Management Commission.
He has served as a board member of SERV, New Jersey's largest mental health care provider, and as a member the New Jersey Energy Master Plan Committee.
Art has a MPA degree from Arizona State University and a BA degree from Salem State University.
